English Language Institute - ELI at NYIT
The English Language Institute (ELI) provides students with the English language and cultural skills they need to participate in academic, social, and professional settings in the United States. Students learn and practice English in a variety of ways, enabling them to use English with confidence anywhere the language is spoken. In its 20-year history, ELI has earned an international reputation. It is part of New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), an institution of higher education with a national and international reputation with campuses in Manhattan, on Long Island (Old Westbury, N.Y.), and worldwide in the Middle East, China, and Canada.
ELI's highly regarded program in English as a second language is designed to prepare students for both academic and professional carers. The ELI offers beginner through advanced non-credit courses that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking English. Examination determines your placement in one of five English language levels.
