Placement Test Requirements for International Students
International Undergraduates
- All international undergraduate freshmen are required to take the English placement exam.
For placement exam test dates or to schedule an appointment, e-mail the Office of Admissions or call 516.686.7444.
International Graduate Students
- International graduate students who score below a 550 on the TOEFL written test, a 213 on the computer test, a 79/80 on the Internet-based exam, or below a 5 on the IELTs exam are required to take a proficiency exam and must e-mail NYIT's English language coordinator or call 516.686.7686.
